Fiorina, 60 is the only woman Republican candidate, once a powerful female in the corporate world. Fiorina shared on ABC News’ Good Morning America, “I think I’m the best person for the job because I understand how the economy actually works. I understand the world, who’s in it, how the world works.”

A breast cancer survivor, who lost her step-daughter to a drug addiction, Fiorina has known adversity despite her financial and career success.

She joins another female candidate, Hillary Clinton (D), trying to become America’s first woman President.

Fiorina admires Clinton but claims she is not trustworthy. “She has not been transparent about a whole set of things that matter, Fiorina said Monday.

Carson, 63, declared his Presidential candidacy in his hometown of Detroit Monday. Carson was raised in Detroit by a single mother. He later went on to practice medicine and served as the head of Pediatric Neurology at Baltimore’s Johns Hopkins Children’s Center.

Carson is the only African American candidate in the 2016 race. His vision of the nation is “a place of dreams” where people can thrive when freed from overbearing government. He believes Washington has exceeded its constitutional powers. A social conservative and Christian, he opposes abortion rights and same-sex marriage because of his faith.

Carson and Fiorina join Senators Ted Cruz, Rand Paul and Marco Rubio as declared Republican Candidates. The field may to continue to grow as it is expected Mike Huckabee will be announcing his campaign. In addition, Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker are likely to declare candidacy by midsummer.
